The Ebb Story
The idea for Ebb Insomnia Therapy was sparked when Dr. Eric Nofzinger, who was driven by his passion for sleep and dedication to finding a solution for his patients, uncovered a new approach to treating insomnia. He understood the crippling effects a lack of sleep can cause as well as the unfortunate side effects currently available treatments can produce. He was determined to find an effective, safe and more natural way to help the millions of people who suffer from insomnia.
The Link Between the Mind and Sleep
Dr. Nofzinger’s brain imaging studies confirmed that when the front of the brain shows a reduction in activity, the person falls into a restorative sleep. But people suffering from insomnia have an increase in front brain activity. This fits with his insomnia patients’ continual complaints about the difficulty in calming their overactive minds. By having a window into the minds of patients seeking sleep, he was able to make a significant discovery that would eventually lead to a revolutionary sleep solution.
Calming the Racing Mind
Armed with a clearer understanding of what’s happening in the brains of those suffering from insomnia, Dr. Nofzinger began his development of a drug-free solution that reduces brain activity and helps calm the mind by precisely cooling the forehead.
Ebb is Born
Dr. Nofzinger and the Ebb team worked diligently to bring his idea to life. After five years of product development, refinements, clinical testing, and FDA clearance, Ebb Insomnia Therapy is ready to help those with insomnia.
The opportunity to transform the lives of individuals experiencing insomnia has fueled the continuing development of Ebb Insomnia Therapy. Our dream is to improve life for the millions of individuals who experience insomnia and it is this dream that continues to fuel all our efforts at Ebb Therapeutics to this day.
